About Balanced Life Coach
I know what it’s like to live a life out of balance (stress, exhaustion, depression, crumbling relationships, lack of ambition and goals, etc.). A recovering workaholic myself, for years I struggled with establishing balance at work and in life and I know now that if I don’t practice what I preach every moment of the day, I could end up back in a state of overwhelm and exhaustion.
I received my coach training from The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the most respected and rigorous program in the coaching industry and also have a BA in International Studies from George Mason University and an MA in International Relations from the University of Leicester.
I have lived and worked on four continents, as a teacher, advocate and activist, organizational operations expert, and fundraising specialist. And while I honed and crafted my strengths as a leader and catalyst for transformation, always pushing myself to be the best at everything, and achieve lasting results for the organizations I worked with, I neglected my body, mind, and soul. While my innate drive helped me achieve recognition and results in the work force, it was a hindrance on my personal life and overall wellbeing. My work, my service to the world, was the center of my life, and as a result my life outside of work suffered greatly. I damaged relationships with family and friends and was basically a nervous wreck when I was not on the job.
I tried so many things to make myself feel better and ‘in control’, but they never served me. Working harder, drinking too much, over-achieving, over-extending myself, trying to please everyone else. Those are just some of the ways I tried to fill a void in myself. But after my body, mind, and soul collapsed, and I had to leave a job I really loved as a result, I knew I had to go deep within myself, heal some core wounds, express my truth, and live my life from a place of balance, a place where I served the world in a different way. I knew I needed to create lasting balance in my life, so that my gifts and strengths could be used to an even greater capacity and my ability to serve had more of an impact on the lives of others.
Living a balanced life, a life of purpose, teaching others how to live balanced lives and be of service to the world is my purpose, my calling. I’m here to help you define balance on your own terms, and to make sure you understand your core desires, so that you can move forward in the world with ease and grace.
These days I live a balanced life, a life of love and purpose. Sunrise meditations, globe-trotting, vinyasa yoga, time to breathe, lots of great friends and family, not to mention a successful business doing work that I love.
